This Privacy Policy explains how Lutz Consulting Group, LLC ("LCG," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit jwlutz.com and its subpages, including the Lutz Consulting Group section at jwlutz.com/consulting (together, the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Scope

This Policy covers information collected through the Site. It does not cover third-party websites we link to, which have their own policies, and it does not cover any separate consulting engagement, which is governed by the written agreement for that engagement.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us. If you submit the contact form on the consulting section, we collect your name, email address, and the message you send us. If you email us directly, we receive whatever information you choose to include.

Usage information. When you visit the Site, our analytics provider collects aggregated, privacy-focused usage data such as page views, referring pages, approximate region, device and browser type, and performance measurements. This data is used to understand and improve the Site and is not used to identify you personally.

We do not ask for or collect payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or sensitive personal information through the Site.

3. How We Use Information

  • Respond to your inquiry and discuss the services you ask about.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
  • Understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising directed at you on other platforms.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only as described here.

Service providers. We use a small number of vendors to run the Site. They are contractually limited to using information only to provide services to us:

Legal and safety. We may share information if required by law or legal process, or if we believe in good faith that sharing is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of LCG, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

5. Data Retention

We keep contact-form messages and related email for as long as we need them to respond to you and to maintain ordinary business records, and then we delete or archive them. Aggregated usage data is retained by our analytics provider on its own schedule and does not identify you.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have given us by emailing us at the address in Section 11. You can choose not to submit the contact form, and most browsers let you control cookies and similar technologies through their settings.

8. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, gives you the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request that we delete or correct it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. We honor these rights for all users regardless of where they live. To exercise them, contact us at the address in Section 11.

9. Other State Privacy Rights

If you live in a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise any right you have, contact us at the address in Section 11.

10. Children

The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies and Analytics

We use a privacy-focused analytics tool (Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights) that measures how the Site is used in aggregate. It does not use cross-site advertising cookies to build a profile of you. You can control cookies and similar technologies through your browser settings; doing so does not prevent you from using the Site.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, we will post the updated Policy here. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect means you accept it.
